Glass in the morning, colonnades after lunch

Karlovy Vary is a narrow wooded valley lined with colonnades and nineteenth-century hotels, where the hot springs are still sipped from spouted porcelain cups. On the way in, the Moser glassworks shows a craft practised here since 1857.

The drive takes about two hours each way, which leaves around four in town: the glassworks first, then the spa walk and lunch.

    The glassworks Ludwig Moser founded in 1857, still making hand-blown and hand-cut crystal. A museum and shop, plus a ticketed factory tour to watch the glassmakers at the furnace, on set days and times.

    A walk through the spa town

    A long, mostly car-free walk along the Teplá river: pastel façades, the Mill and Market Colonnades, and the hot spring that rises as a geyser in its own hall. Your driver drops you at one end and meets you at the other.

  • 01The spring water is drunk warm from a spouted cup sold at every colonnade. Each spring has its own temperature; the mineral taste isn't for everyone.
  • 02The Moser factory tour runs on set days and times. Book it ahead and tell us the slot.

Questions

Is the driver a guide?

No. Your driver is local and knows the route, but is not a licensed guide and does not guide inside museums or monuments.

Can we choose the stops?

Yes. The stops are suggestions. Agree with your driver at pickup which ones you want time at; the day has to fit the booked hours and traffic.

Are entrance tickets and meals included?

No. Sights are ticketed separately and meals are your own. Your driver waits while you visit or eat.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel at least 24 hours before pickup for a full refund.

Can we finish somewhere other than our hotel?

Yes. The ride can end at any address in the city, such as a restaurant for dinner. Tell us when you book.
